The Beanpot is an annual, mid-season college hockey tournament featuring the city's top hockey powers - Boston College,
Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern.
Boston College won their first Beanpot since 2004 in a thrilling 6-5
overtime win over Harvard to capture the 2008 tournament. Freshman Brian Gibbons led the way with a pair of goals
including the game winner at 7:07 of OT on his way to being named MVP.
This year Boston University and Northeastern University will host the games at RFD (located
at 810 7th St. NW near the Verizon Center). Last year saw record attendance at the new smoke free venue in DC.

Remember the excitement and atmosphere surrounding the Beanpot tournament while you were in Boston? Get ready to experience
it again here in DC!!
Continuing into its sixth year, local alumni from the four schools have recreated the rivalry
and excitement of this traditional Boston hockey event by gathering on the first and second Monday of each February.
The cost is $15 in advance ($20 at the door) which gets you extended happy hour specials, exclusive access to all
of RFD (all of their TVs will be tuned to NESN), bar snacks, commemorative pint glass and admission to the championship game
viewing.
With over twenty thousand Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern Alumni in the DC area,
this event is sure to sell out fast.
